Inspiration: Beautiful tableware for everyday use

Updated: Oct 21, 2023

There is something to be said about high quality dinnerware and flatware. At various times within my own life I have had a variety of kitchen essentials that were hand-me-downs and my own purchases that ranged from Christmas Tree Shop essentials to vintage finds to Potterybarn tableware and flatware to handmade artisan pottery that I absolutely fell in love with on a girls trip in NYC.

I fully recognize that we are all at varying places in our lives and maybe we are or are not prioritizing these elements of our homes. But even if you are not fully ready to invest in some higher end pieces, I hope you can still get inspired by this tabletop design.

I had a client come to me with a request that isn't always typical. She wanted to have a cohesive tabletop that worked well with her existing space. (It's a brand new home and stunning... so that wasn't too hard to work with!)

It was important to me that I didn't present something that was super matchy matchy.... I wanted to give a curated look that had some visual interest, color and depth to the selections. I also wanted the pieces to seem like they had been curated over time and not bought as a set. It was also important that beautiful tableware for everyday use, was actually functional for every day.

Below you will find large dinner plates with a paired salad plate in the same style, but the bowls are from an entirely different supplier and two sizes as well. While the glassware was not included in this customer proposal, I have added additional glassware that could pair really well. My client had existing glassware that worked already!
